Looking North

Parts of the North of England do not have a local Disc Golf course! We are working hard to overcome this situation and remove the need for players to travel outside of their home county to play the sport we all love. The North of England has far more green space than the more densely populated South and Midlands regions. These spaces are crying out for baskets and the glorious sound of chains.

Building upon the experience we gained bring Leicestershire's first Permanent Disc Golf course to life, we are now in discussion with parks & leisure departments in a number of city councils. These discussions allow us to provide evidence of the benefits of our sport, including the incredibly low cost of implementation in comparison to other sports facilities. With many councils struggling to meet the rising cost of facility installations for mainstream sports and activities, Disc Golf presents a far greater cost-benefit ratio.

Example 1 - Tennis courts can cost upwards of £50k and be enjoyed by 4 people simultaneously. A 9-hole disc golf course can be installed by DG4A for under £5k and be enjoyed by 30+ players at one time.

Example 2 - Outdoor gyms easily reach a cost between £30k and £70k, yet lie unused after 2 months as the novelty wears off. Through our community engagement events, an installed Disc Golf course can have regular influx of new players. With our emphasis on fun introductions, this can lead to organic growth of regular players that may form a club and further grow the local scene.

If you know of an area which doesn't have access to a permanent course or you think your local park would be suitable for Disc Golf, get in touch and work with us to bring this amazing sport to your area. The process becomes much easier with more people committed to the cause!
