What is Disc Golf?
In technical terms, Disc Golf is played by throwing a flying disc from a tee position, to a designated target in the fewest throws possible.
We like to describe it as a fun and inclusive sport for the whole family to enjoy!
Whilst played in much the same way as traditional golf, and sharing many of the same terms, Disc Golf offers a much more accessible and relaxed experience. No need for expensive club membership, the latest professional equipment or dress codes. Just pick up a frisbee or a specially designed Disc Golf disc and throw!
Players take turns throwing discs from the tee position, towards a designated target (usually like the basket pictured here). Then, whoever is furthest from the basket throws again, from wherever their first throw landed.
Repeat this until each player has got their disc to land inside the basket and that's your first hole completed. For competitive fun, note down how many throws each player takes, with the fewest throws being the best score. Play through the whole course this way, avoiding any trees, bushes and other obstacles along the way.
